I just saw 'Children of Men' earlier today. Wow, what a great movie. It was quite intense and had several unexpected and shocking moments. I was very impressed with it's interweaving of humor and brutality; many movies attempt to do it but Children of Men pulled it off spectacularly.
I don't want to give too much away, but I'll say that although I was touched by some of the deaths that took place during the story, I was moved to tears by the silence. When you see the movie you'll know what I mean. Judging from the arm movements of my wife during that time she was also busily wiping her eyes.
I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.
The woman who sat behind us in the theater must be a very scary person to be around in real life as she made loud gasping noises once or twice during the film; she even did it once during an auto insurance commercial before the movie started. I guess she forgot she was watching a screen.
