I lost my best friend this morning. We got Rook from the SPCA in 1997, he was between 2 and 4 years old when we got him. When I woke up this morning he was gone. He was a wolf/husky hybrid, about 80lbs, and silver/black in color. He was super sweet to everyone he met and gave kisses freely. He wasn't above hunting anything that was small and furry though; cats, moles, rats, even lizards, hermit crabs, and turtles. He really wanted a horse once too, but people... he loved them. When our younger son Alex was born Rook claimed him as his own and got upset if we let him cry too long. I'm going to miss him for a very long time and remember him forever.
You can see his pics here.

Re: RIP Rook
David,
So very sorry to hear about Rook. All of our pets are special to us in our own ways. I am sure he will live on in your life. I still think about our first Basset that we had to euthenize (sp?). He was my buddy and my lifesaver for a very hard time in my life and I still miss him and all that we went through. Great pictures, he was, and still is, a good friend.
