Alright, call me a sheep if you want to, but I went to see Spiderman 3 with my family this weekend. I wanted to see it Friday night but things didn't work out. I finally got to the theater early on Saturday.
Let me start by saying that the character Spiderman as been around for 45 years, so I think that the people in charge of the scripts for the movies have done a hell of a job getting alot of the meat that people want to see on screen. My wife said that there was too much love story and not enough action. I felt that there was plenty of action, and the internal struggle of Peter Parker can't be exposed very well without rounding out his entire life (he's not just Spiderman you know). Remember, Parker is really quite the nerd, you need to be reminded of that every once in a while.
The special effects were stellar, the plot was well thought out, the bigness of the movie was easily felt. My only complaint was that Venom didn't get more screen time.
The movie certainly ended in such a way as to leave it open for more. I really hope that Toby and Kirsten found enough joy doing this episode that they'll sign on for more.
I loved it! 4 out of 5 stars.
